Meditative Face Cleanse

You're doing something amazing for your skin. Slow down.

Whether you have a regular mediation practice or not, the time that you spend on your skincare routine can be an opportunity to be mindful.

Channel your inner vacation! Before you begin: relax your shoulders. Tilt your head to the right...pause, stretch and breathe, to the left...pause, stretch and breathe.

Step 1: Do an initial wash to remove makeup or surface oils and dirt. Use the oil cleansing method to be more thorough.

Step 2: Wet a wash cloth with hot water, as warm as your hands can tolerate, then place it on your face and hold it in place with your hands. This is a quick and easy way to steam your pores to prep for the deep cleanse.

Step 3: Lather up your hands and do circular motions with your hands and fingertips. You are not just washing the surface…you’re encouraging the grime out of your pores. You’re also getting rid of lingering bits of makeup and dead skin cells. One minute is a good destination, but rather than think of it as a required amount of time...think more about relaxing your facial muscles, shoulders, breathe deeper - in for 6 through your nose, out for 7 through your mouth.

Using a gentle soap is very important, you do not want to strip your skin of all things beneficial; you want to allow the chemistry of soap to lift and carry dirt away from your face.

Our Activated Charcoal Soap is formulated to detox and clean without drying out your skin. Many cleansers strip your face of natural oils - making it hard for your skin to protect itself from the environment AND leaving your body with the urge to overproduce oils.

If your face is tight after washing it, an hour later it will be oily as an attempt to bring back balance. A couple of weeks of our activated charcoal soap can bring back a natural balance - instead of fighting oily skin all day, you will be left with a healthy glow or clean palette for makeup.

Step 4: Dry with a clean face towel. It is worth it to use a fresh towel for the face to reduce the amount of bacteria transferred back onto the skin.

Complete your routine with a non-pore-clogging moisturiser. I often use a dab of castor oil - I prefer to use one or 2 ingredients when possible - but there are also endless commercial moisturisers specifically for the face.

Do this twice a day BUT if you only have time to do this once a day...do it in the evening and make sure you're changing your pillow case REGULARLY ❤
